Season 2023-24
The following competitions are run for the benefit of the Area 12 clubs. The individual competion rules are detailed along with the draw for each competition.
Crichton Tankard:
The area final will be played in Forfar on Sunday 24th March 2024 at 14:00.
A knockout competition running all season. Initially the Area is divided into 2 sections (North Eastern Province vs North & South Esk Province, and Angus Province vs Dundee & District Province) which results in the section winners playing in the final for the Tankard. Matches are played in Aberdeen (NE vs NSE) and Forfar / Dundee (A vs DD) with the grand final played alternative years at Aberdeen & Forfar.
Indoor Bonspiel:
The Area Indoor Bonspiel will be played in Forfar on Sunday 12th November at 11:30 and 14:00.
A single match competition held over one day at the Dundee Indoor Arena, where you need to score highly for your Province as much as your club. Because there will be different number of teams competing from each Province, the winner will be the Province with the highest average score, and the winning club will be the highest scoring club within that winning Province.
Grant Trophy:
The Grant Trophy will be played in Forfar on Sunday 4th February at 11:30, 14:00 and 16:30.
A single match competition held over two days at the Forfar Indoor Sports, where you need to score highly for your Province as much as your club. Because there will be different number of teams competing from each Province, the winner will be the Province with the highest average score, and the winning club will be the highest scoring club within that winning Province.
Inter Province Competition
The Inter Province competition will be played in Forfar on Sunday 11th February at 11:30 and 14:00.
