Season 2024-25
The following competitions are run for the benefit of the Area 12 clubs. The individual competion rules are detailed along with the draw for each competition.
Crichton Tankard:
The area final will be played in Forfar on Sunday 23rd March 2025 at 11:30.
A knockout competition running all season. Initially the Area is divided into 2 sections (North Eastern Province vs North & South Esk Province, and Angus Province vs Dundee & District Province) which results in the section winners playing in the final for the Tankard. Matches are played in Aberdeen (NE vs NSE) and Forfar / Dundee (A vs DD) with the grand final played alternative years at Aberdeen & Forfar.
Indoor Bonspiel:
The Area Indoor Bonspiel will be played in Forfar on Sunday 10th November at 14:00 and 16:30.
A single match competition held over one day at Forfar Indoor Sports, where you need to score highly for your Province as much as your club. The winning Province will have the highest average shots scored and the winning Club within the winning Province shall have the highest number of shots scored. Province/s with less than three teams entered will have their scores divided by three. All other Provinces will have their scores divided by the actual number of teams.
Grant Trophy:
The Grant Trophy will be played in Forfar on Sunday 2nd February at 11:30, 14:00 and 16:30.
A single match competition held over three sessions at the Forfar Indoor Sports, where you need to score highly for your Province as much as your club. The winning Province will have the highest average shots scored and the winning Club within the winning Province shall have the highest number of shots scored.
Province/s with less than three teams entered will have their scores divided by three. All other Provinces will have their scores divided by the actual number of teams.
Inter Province Competition
The Inter Province competition will be played in Forfar on Sunday 9th February at 11:30 and 14:00.
